There is a defiance (rightfully so) and defiance and speaking up as a marginalized group is dangerous (especially now) and if I am right you have taken away your ability to defend through a posture of non-violence (which is admirable)... but also dangerous. But I often get things wrong so I apologize in advance for any silliness.
Mmmm I appreciate this, thank you! It's definitely feels risky to take an position right now with the fear of violence, especially for marginalized folks. For me, that's the point, I have privilege and want to use my words to remind people all the noise is a distraction from what unites all "sides" and based in not dehumanizing anyone. I'm currently working on a piece that has practices for resisting binary thinking that divides will staying aligned with maintaining a non-violent approach. This is hard work and I love being able to learn more through conversation, so please, all silliness is welcome.
